4-day closure for National and Liberation Days
Ministries and other government departments will be closed for four days — from Feb 25-28 — on the occasion of the National and Liberation Days, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting sources from the Civil Service Commission.Sources explained the government sector employees will enjoy a four-day holiday as the National and Liberation Days fall on a Wednesday and Thursday respectively followed by the weekend holidays — Friday and Saturday.
Kuwait s first Virtual Job Fair receives 11,230 job seekers

The Virtual Job Fair, which was held from January 18th to January 22nd 2009, provided both employers and job seekers a convenient and hassle-free opportunity to interact and explore potential job openings throughout Kuwait and the GCC region.
As part of the initiative, Bayt.com constructed animated 3D 'Virtual Booths' on the website for the different participating companies, which received approximately 11,230 booth visits across the five days. The virtual booths, like physical job fairs, were branded with the exhibitors' names and logos and provided access to a range of information about that particular company.
Job seekers had the opportunity to submit their CVs directly to their booths of choice and apply immediately for new and existing jobs; while potential employees and employers had the unique option of interacting in real time via online or video chat. A total of 250 jobs were available during the fair

Al-Jazeera Airways offers 1,991 seats for KD 1 only
Kuwait's Jazeera Airway said that it will offer some 1,991 seats for one way tickets at KD one only, marking the Kuwait's 18th Liberation Day.The promotion will be valid as of Tuesday, midnight.Jazeera's newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andrew Cowen said in a press release that the offer which is running till February 19 is yet another promotion to follow the one the company already announced upon the occasion of the country's National Day.Cowen said that all passengers who would like to choose to travel with Al-Jazeera are welcome to book through the airline's website.The offer includes trips to Beirut, Dubai, and New Delhi, and bookings are available for flights from March 2 till April 30 through this promotion.He said the offer comes to help all Kuwaiti citizens and residents alike to celebrate and enjoy the month of February.
